トランプ氏、イラン巡り作戦指令室で会議 2回目協議控え

［ワシントン　１５日　ロイター］ - トランプ米大統領は１５日、米国とイランの当局者が１９日に行う２回目の協議を前に、ホワイトハウスのシチュエーション・ルーム（作戦指令室）で国家安全保障担当の上級補佐官らとイランの核開発計画について話し合った。複数の関係者が明らかにした。

あるホワイトハウス当局者はイランに関する会議が行われたと明かした上で、トランプ氏は安全な環境を生かすためシチュエーション・ルームで定期的に説明を受けているとし、同指令室での会議は異例ではないと述べた。

別の関係者によると、トランプ氏と上級補佐官らはイランとの協議や今後の対応について話し合った。

トランプ氏はイランが核開発計画を放棄しなければ軍事力行使も辞さないと警告する一方、外交と交渉の必要性も強調している。

米国のウィットコフ中東担当特使は１９日、オマーンでイラン側との協議を行う予定。

トランプ氏は１５日、オマーンのハイサム国王と電話で会談し、米・イラン協議における仲介役としてのオマーンの役割や、イエメンの親イラン武装組織フーシ派に対する作戦について話し合った。

ホワイトハウスのレビット報道官は会見で「イランに対する最大限の圧力作戦は継続している」とした上で、トランプ大統領の最終目標は、交渉を通じてイランの核兵器取得を防止することだと述べた。

大統領はハイサム国王との電話会談でこの点を強調したという。
