スターバックス中国事業、株式売却先候補に2週間以内の提案要請＝関係筋

[香港２２日ロイター] - 関係筋によると、米コーヒーチェーン大手のスターバックス(SBUX.O), opens new tabは、中国事業の株式の売却先候補を絞り込み、２週間以内に拘束力のない提案書を提出するよう求めた。

同社は売却先の候補であるプライベートエクイティ（ＰＥ）ファンドのカーライル(CG.O), opens new tab、ＥＱＴ(EQTAB.ST), opens new tab、ヒルハウス・インベストメント、プリマベーラ・キャピタルを経営陣による説明会に招待した。中国事業の財務・運営に関する詳細を説明するという。

スターバックスは中国市場のシェアが過去５年間で半分以下に落ち込んでおり、新たなパートナーを迎えることで、中国事業の立て直しを図る狙いがある。

関係筋によると、スターバックスは７月に中国事業に関心を持つ企業最大１０社を選定し、財務・運営情報へのアクセスを許可するため、秘密保持契約を締結した。

株式売却の構造や売却規模はまだ最終決定していない。

関係筋が以前ロイターに語ったところによると、同社は昨年下半期から、さまざまな潜在的な売却先候補と非公式協議を行っており、年内の合意成立を目指している。
