健康懸念の香港「リンゴ日報」創業者、最終弁論に向け投薬受ける

[香港１８日ロイター] - 中国政府に批判的な論調で知られた香港紙・蘋果日報（リンゴ日報＝廃刊）創業者で、香港国家安全維持法（国安法）違反罪などに問われている黎智英（ジミー・ライ）氏（７７）は、最終弁論の開始に当たって動悸（どうき）を巡る健康上の懸念があったため、投薬と心臓モニターを提供された。

黎氏の弁護人は１５日、同氏が倒れそうになったり、動悸を感じたりすることがあったと裁判所に報告。審理が延期されていた。

検察官は黎氏が同日中に薬を投与され、出廷できる状態になったことを確認した。

２０２３年終盤に裁判が始まった時よりも明らかに痩せた黎氏は、白いジャケットに身を包み、家族や支援者に向かって何度も手のひらを合わせて祈るような仕草を見せた。

裁判官の１人は、必要であれば黎氏に追加の休憩を与えることができると述べた。

英国籍の黎氏は約１７００日間独房に勾留されており、同氏の息子や一部の権利団体は健康状態の悪化に懸念を表明している。
