米オープンAI、ウェブブラウザー発表へ クロームに対抗
数週間以内に発表する予定で、AIを通じてウェブ閲覧を根本的に変えることを目指しているという。グーグル成功の鍵となったユーザーデータに直接アクセスすることも可能になる。
関係者によると、新ブラウザーは検索結果をクリックする形ではなく、チャットGPTのように利用者とやり取りするよう設計されている。オープンAIが提供するAIエージェント「オペレーター」などと統合すれば、ブラウザーが利用者の代わりに予約やフォーム入力などのタスクも実行できるようになるという。
一方、週間で5億人に上るチャットGPTのアクティブユーザーがオープンAIの新ブラウザーを利用すれば、グーグルの広告収入源に圧力となる可能性もある。クロームはアルファベットの広告事業の重要な柱で、売上高の4分の3近くを占める。
オープンAIはコメントに応じていない。
