米政権、国際海事機関「ネットゼロ枠組み」拒否支持国に報復も

[１２日ロイター] - 米政権は１２日、海運部門における世界的な温室効果ガス排出削減を目指して国際海事機関（ＩＭＯ）が提案する「ネットゼロ枠組み」を拒否し、これを支持する国々に対する報復措置も示唆した。

ルビオ国務長官、ラトニック商務長官、ライト・エネルギー長官、ダフィー運輸長官が、１０月にＩＭＯで行われるネットゼロ案採決を前に共同声明を発表した。

声明は「トランプ政権はＩＭＯに提出されたこの提案を明確に拒否し、市民、エネルギー供給業者、海運会社とその顧客、観光客のコストを増加させるいかなる行動も容認しない」と述べている。

米国は４月にネットゼロ枠組みに関するＩＭＯ協議から離脱。ロイターが確認したメモでは、他のＩＭＯメンバーに枠組みへの支持を再考するよう促した。

大手海運会社の多くはすでに２０５０年までのネットゼロにコミットしている。
