米ゴールデンドーム構想、費用1850億ドルに拡大新たに企業参加

[アーリントン（米バージニア州）１７日ロイター] - トランプ米大統領が掲げる最新鋭のミサイル防衛システム「ゴールデン‌ドーム」構想の総費用が、主要な宇宙基盤能力の構築を加速させるため、１００億ドル増の１８５０億ドルに達する見通しとなった。同プロジェクトの責任者である⁠米宇宙軍のグートライン大将が１７日に明らかにした。

グートライン氏は「われわれは、一部の宇宙能力を加速させるよう要請された」と述べ、追加資‌金の⁠恩恵を受ける3つのプログラムとして、先進ミサイル追跡イニシアチブ、宇宙データネットワーク、極超音速・弾道追跡宇宙センサー（ＨＢＴＳＳ）⁠を挙げた。

ＨＢＴＳＳは、極超音速・弾道ミサイルの脅威を検知・追跡するために設計された宇宙⁠ベースのセンサーシステムだ。このシステムが資金拡充パッケージに組み込⁠まれたことは、敵対勢力が極超音速兵器を増強する中、持続的な上空追跡能力を配備する緊急性を示している。
